The FAA only grants RVSM approval to the Operator of the aircraft. This makes the approval process unique to each aircraft.

One common question we normally get is, How long would it take for our airplane to be approved to fly in RVSM airspace?

The answer to this question is contingent on how quickly the operator can supply our office with all the information necessary to complete the RVSM package.

In the past we have seen customers forward the information in hours after we requested it. In some cases, operators log books and maintenance records are not always accurate making the process more lenthly to complete the package. Provided an operator supplies all the information quickly, a RVSM package can be complete five days after all the information is received.
